This 3-hour Arctic adventure takes you on a scenic 35-minute sleigh ride through peaceful, snow-covered forests, combined with a hands-on reindeer encounter at our authentic reindeer farm. The activity level is very easy—mostly sitting, minimal physical exertion. We keep groups small and intimate to ensure genuine animal interaction and personal attention. Our guides speak English and Finnish fluently.

Children and families are welcome. The minimum group size is two paying adults. The best season is November through March when snow coverage is reliable for sledge operation.

Your adventure begins with scenic transport to our private reindeer farm nestled in the Arctic wilderness. Upon arrival, you’ll meet our gentle reindeer herd and learn about traditional Arctic herding practices.

Then comes the magical 35-minute reindeer sledge ride through quiet, snow-blanketed forests. You’ll glide peacefully through pristine Lapland landscape, pulled by these remarkable animals. Return transport to our private reindeer farm from your Rovaniemi accommodation (within 10 km of the city center). Pick-ups further than 10 km are possible for an additional fee (€2 per km).

Group Requirements

Minimum of two paying adults required for this tour. Families and couples are welcome and encouraged.

Snow Dependency

This activity depends entirely on snow coverage. If the sledge ride is cancelled due to lack of snow in early winter (November–December) or late spring (April), you receive a 100% refund. Tours may be rescheduled for better conditions.

Duration Note

The 3-hour duration includes transport time needed to arrive at our location and return to your pick-up place. Actual sledge riding and farm time is approximately 2 hours.

Physical Requirements

This is a very easy activity—mostly sitting in the sledge and light walking. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Pregnant guests should consult in advance (generally suitable). Limited mobility is possible with advance notice.


What to Bring with You

Essential

Bring suitable warm underwear and layers—we recommend thermal base layers, warm sweater, and insulated jacket. Warm hat, gloves, and scarf. Thermal socks and insulated boots.

Recommended

Your camera and phone (bring them along for the ride). Hand and toe warmers (optional but helpful in extreme cold).

Snow coverage is essential for sledge operation. Early winter (November–December) and late spring (April) may have variable snow—we’ll reschedule free of charge if conditions don’t allow sledging.

More than 7 days before your tour: Full refund. Between 3 and 7 days before: 50% cancellation fee. Less than 3 days before: 100% cancellation fee.
